Repair authorization & liability waiver

Please sign this before we touch your car. Takes a minute, saves us both a headache.

Authorization. You authorize D's Auto Repair to perform diagnostic and repair work on the vehicle described above, including reasonable test drives to confirm the fix.

Estimates. Quoted prices are based on what we can see before we open anything up. If diagnosis turns up something else, we'll call before doing additional work. (We will not "just go ahead" and rebuild your transmission.)

Pre-existing conditions. You acknowledge that older cars have older-car problems, and that fixing the thing you brought us for does not retroactively make the rest of the car new. D's Auto Repair is released from liability for pre-existing wear, prior damage, deferred maintenance, and issues unrelated to the work performed.

Personal items & access. Please remove valuables. You authorize movement of the vehicle on and around the shop premises.

Storage. Vehicles left more than 7 days after the completed-work notice may incur a reasonable daily storage fee.

In plain English: we'll fix what you brought us for, we'll tell you before we do anything extra, and we're not on the hook for the stuff that was already broken when it rolled in.

A copy will be emailed to you and to the shop.
